One of the reasons we started HK Edit was to support Australian design and making. We think it is incredibly important to elevate our local industries and craftspeople, and our Australian designers. For us, it is all about helping develop the local design ecosystem, and that includes designers, makers, workshops, showrooms and retailers, as well as our customers.

Our HK Edit Range is designed by Hare + Klein and made locally. We also collaborate with other companies such as The Wood Room who commissioned Meryl Hare to design a dining table which has become a favourite with our customers. There will be many more collaborations with artisans to come.

One of the advantages of an Australian made collection is that we can supply quality product with shorter lead times than imported products that may take months to get here or use vast amounts of energy on the way. Although it will always be interesting and exciting to import unique products from other places, we want to balance that by creating excitement around great products that are made here.
